Cool off at the pool
At Sand Hollow Resort, guests need not look far to find aquatic solace! The resort has multiple seasonal pools (closed November-mid February) for our guests to enjoy. Step outside of your resort room or vacation condominium and you’ll likely be met with a lovely pool and hot tub nearby!
Watersports at Sand Hollow Reservoir
Chase your next adrenaline rush out on the lake at Sand Hollow Reservoir, located right across the street from the resort. Zip across 1,000+ surface acres while water skiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, and wave running. Hit up Mad Moose Rentals and choose from a few of our favorite water activities. If “all of the above” is more your style, they’ll be your go-to for all the lake toys and awesome package deals.
Kick back at Sand Hollow beach
If the relaxed life is what you seek, find it on the beach at Sand Hollow. It’s wide enough for you to find your own personal stretch of beach away from the cliff jumpers and jet skiers. It also makes a great launch spot for paddleboards and kayaks, so be sure to pay another visit to Mad Moose Rentals before hitting the beach!
Scuba in the desert
Take the rare opportunity to scuba dive in the middle of a desert and discover what’s lurking beneath the surface at Sand Hollow. (Hint: you might be able to sneak a peek at the rumored bus and plane that have settled at the bottom!)
Dixie Divers offers convenient scuba classes during the summer months of May to October out of The Dive Shack at Sand Hollow. They’ll be your one-stop-shop for all of your scuba and snorkeling needs.
Boating and fishing at Quail Creek
If you’re itching to take the boat out and get in some tubing or wakeboarding, Quail Creek Reservoir is a great spot that often sees fewer swimmers and beachgoers than neighbor Sand Hollow Reservoir.
While you’re there, see what you can reel in! Due to its depth, Quail Creek can sustain even rainbow trout, bullhead catfish, and crappie in the Southern Utah heat. Largemouth bass and bluegill are also active, thriving in the upper layers of the lake.
