From beginner-friendly walks to heart-pumping summit climbs, Zion has a trail for everyone in the family.

Angels Landing is Zion’s most famous hike, a thrilling 5.4-mile round trip with chain-assisted climbing and panoramic views of Zion Canyon. A permit is required, so plan ahead at recreation.gov.

The Narrows offers one of the most unique hiking experiences in the world. Wade through the Virgin River as towering canyon walls rise hundreds of feet on either side. Best experienced in summer and early fall.

Canyon Overlook Trail is the perfect introduction to Zion, a short 1-mile round trip with stunning views of Pine Creek Canyon and the East Temple. Ideal for families with young children.

Emerald Pools Trail winds through shaded alcoves and past waterfalls to a series of beautiful pools nestled in the cliffs. A gentle, rewarding hike for all skill levels.

Scenic Drives & Sightseeing
Not every Zion adventure requires hiking boots. The Zion Canyon Scenic Drive takes you through the heart of the park with jaw-dropping views at every turn. During peak season, the drive is accessible by free park shuttle, board in Springdale or at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center.

Don’t miss the Zion–Mount Carmel Highway, which winds through the park’s east side and includes a mile-long tunnel carved through solid sandstone. The views on either side are among the most photographed in Southern Utah.

History & Culture
The Zion Human History Museum near the south entrance is a great first stop. Exhibits detail the geology of the canyon and the stories of the Native American tribes, Mormon pioneers, and early explorers who shaped this remarkable landscape.
