Sand Hollow Reservoir is another great spot to land, especially if you’re looking to indulge in the unique landscape here in Utah. On one side of the lake, enjoy cliff jumping and laying out on the sandstone rocks, and on the other, a red sand beach is a perfect spot for a day in the sunshine and a sunset barbeque to finish your summer day. Remember your sunscreen, and don’t forget to stay hydrated!
If you’re willing to venture into Ivins, Utah, just 25 minutes from the resort, you can also check out Fire Lake Park or Gunlock State Park. Fire Lake is located off Old Highway 91. It’s a small reservoir, perfect for younger children. Water sports are not permitted in this area, so bring floaties or other water toys to enjoy at this location. Gunlock is not far from Fire Lake Park and is a larger body of water. It features a different view, but if you visit early enough in the season, you might be lucky enough to see Gunlock Falls, which is worth the drive and the short hike to get there.

Boating
Boating is a highly popular activity for visitors and locals! There are many opportunities to rent boats or bring your own while visiting Sand Hollow Resort. While boating, you can experience an entirely new view of the area from the middle of the lake and unique water activities too! Take up wakeboarding for the day, or go tubing and pile on some of your friends for extra fun. Take advantage of how close you are to Sand Hollow State Park and make memories with family and friends while enjoying the lake.
Jet Skiing, Kayaking & Paddle Boarding
Jet Skiing is another popular excursion in Southern Utah. Again, our friends at Mad Moose Rentals can help you get set up with a pair of jet skis to take out on Sand Hollow Reservoir. Jet skiing is especially fun if you’re looking to tour around the lake or visit the island in the center of the lake, where there are additional and more secluded opportunities for swimming and cliff jumping.
Kayaking and paddle boarding around the lake can be so much fun and cheaper if you’re looking for a more cost-effective adventure. You can rent paddle boards and kayaks at a few locations in Southern Utah for a fun day on the lake. Take a ride and take in the breathtaking views of the sandstone rock formations around the lake.
