The Judd’s General Store is the oldest ongoing establishment in the area. Located in the heart of St. George, just 25 minutes from the resort, this quaint shop is one to add to your list. Enjoy a light lunch with their delicious soups and breadstick. Coming from a local, this is a childhood spot for many. The store has a nostalgic feel with old-school candies and sodas. This is a great spot for the whole family to find something sweet. Because this location is near the heart of St. George, a small water park and other shops are just a short walk across Tabernacle Street. Tuacahn Center for the Arts

Tuacahn is known for its selection of seasonal musical performances. In years past, they have put on productions such as Annie, Beauty and the Beast, and also Grease. This outdoor entertainment space is nestled in the red rock scenery about 45 minutes from Sand Hollow Resort. The stage itself sits in a canyon with seating towering above it. If you’re lucky, you might even be able to catch a comedian or a special guest performance. Have a night out with your significant other or the entire family. Silver Reef Ghost Town

Silver Reef, in its prime, was a mining boomtown in the late 1800s with the discovery of silver in sandstone. The site is now a Wild West Ghost Town located in a stunning geologic setting. You can check out the Wells Fargo Express Stop Building, the Museum, and other outbuildings in the area. Silver Reef Ghost Town is located a short 30-minute drive from Sand Hollow Resort. Zion Brewery 

Zion Brewery has two incredible locations in Southern Utah. One is located in the heart of downtown St. George, and the other is in the small tourist town of Springdale, just outside of Zion National Park. Both locations offer a selection of their signature brews and a playful atmosphere. Obviously, the location in Springdale is perfectly situated to enjoy the stunning views of Zion Canyon and a small pub area with various bar food selections. Red Cliffs Recreation Area

If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure filled with red rock canyons, waterfalls, and hikes, Red Cliffs Recreation Area is an amazing spot to check out. The area offers day-use sites and a campground if you return for a more rugged stay. There is a simple hike to two waterfalls along a moderate trail. The first waterfall is a short 1-mile walk, while the hike to the second, just a mile and a half from the first, gets a little more difficult. The water areas are safe to swim in when the water is flowing; however, be aware of still or standing water, especially during later summer months and into the winter, to avoid sickness.
