Sand Hollow West Rim

You can access this route on the south side of the Southern Parkway from Sand Hollow, and it lets out on the west side of Sand Hollow near Long Valley. This route is considered a more challenging trail, mainly because of the length spanning 10.2 miles. The West Rim takes you all the way around and through the sand dunes. This area requires a high-clearance 4×4 vehicle, so be aware before heading out on this trail! Once you’re past the “wall of doom,” as the locals call it, it’s all views from there.

The Maze

This trail is located very close to the resort, making it easy to access if you’re coming to visit the area. The Maze can be entered from the frontage road on the south side of the Southern Parkway. Enjoy this 11.5-mile trail featuring steep hills and technical descents. As you reach the highest point, prepare for an incredible view overlooking the lake and other red rock landscapes.

Milts Mile

This trail can be easily accessed from the Southern Parkway, just south of Sand Hollow Resort. This 4.6-mile loop is generally moderate and can be driven by various offroad vehicles. Explore Milts Mile directly from the resort. This particular trail is quiet, and it is unlikely that you will encounter others exploring the area.

Sunshine Trail Loop

Following the old pioneer trail, this route takes you past the Utah-Arizona border into the remote desert. The scenery is very different from the red rock formations in Sand Hollow, but it’s worth the 33.8-mile journey. Just off the Southern Parkway via the Warner Valley exit, ride through a beautiful canyon followed by narrow switchbacks topping out at Segmillet hill. This trail then descends and loops back to your start location. Check out the Sunshine Trail Loop!

Fault Line

This trail is about 15 minutes from the resort. You can access it via the Southern Parkway off the Long Valley Road exit. Not only is the Fault Line a great spot to take out offroad vehicles, but it’s also a great place to take mountain bikes or hike and explore the scenery. Experience intricate rock formations and stunning views. If you explore this trail with an OHV, be aware of some problematic areas, especially if you’re not an experienced driver. Be sure to follow safety precautions and have a spotter in those areas.

Now is the time to explore the stunning views of the Southern Utah desert. Bring your favorite off-road vehicles or take advantage of an opportunity to rent them to explore the unreal red rock scenery hidden within the canyons. Book your stay at Sand Hollow Resort today!
